Adult and youth athletes alike will love the recreational opportunities in and around Verona. Reddan Soccer Park, a 60 acre park run by the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association, provides excellent practice and game space. Ceniti Park includes a Little League baseball and softball complex. The Verona Ice Arena provides an Olympic sized ice rink, with youth hockey and figure skating lessons. The Verona Athletic Center (VAC) includes gymnasiums for indoor sporting events like basketball and volleyball. Swimming facilities can be found at both the Goodman Aquatic Center and the indoor Natatorium.
The parks department boasts at least 25 parks, with the number increasing as neighborhoods expand. Fireman’s Park includes a swim beach. Two others, Harriet Park and the space adjacent to the Ice Arena, offer outdoor ice rinks each winter. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate access to the rambling Sugar River, Pope Farms Conservancy, the Military Ridge State Trail and the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
Locally owned shops, restaurants, a vibrant arts community and the city’s library all create opportunities for community interaction and connection. The annual Hometown USA Days unites thousands of residents with food, fun and a variety of entertaining events for all ages.

Traditional and Charter Schools
The Verona Area School District includes 4 traditional elementary schools: Country View, Glacier Edge, Stoner Prairie and Sugar Creek. Three charter schools offer alternative instruction. These include Core Knowledge, New Century and the Verona Area International School. Two traditional middle schools, Badger Ridge and Savannah Oaks, along with Core Knowledge Charter School, feed into either Verona Area High School or Exploration Academy Charter School. Residents can attend their neighborhood school or apply to the Charter School of their choice. Admission is determined by a lottery system.
